As a preamble to the New Metrics event, this year the AICPA and Sustainable Brands will be hosting a Webinar called “Opportunities Beyond Traditional Financial Statements”. The changing 21st century business and investment landscape is making it critical for CPAs, CFOs, Investment professionals and Attorneys to understand issues of sustainability, ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance), quantifying intangible value and risk drivers, and expanding methods of measuring and reporting on these issues. The AICPA and SB will share insights into trends and developments in the sustainability reporting landscape.  Also hear how CPAs are getting involved and helping companies of all sizes in this rapidly evolving landscape.

About The Speakers

Desiré Carroll

Desiré Carroll  - Senior Technical Manager, AICPA

Desiré Carroll is a Senior Technical Manager at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) where she focuses on IFRS and Sustainability. Desiré serves as the staff liaison to the ASEC Sustainability Assurance and Advisory Task Force, the ASB Sustainability Task Force and the Telecommunications Revenue Recognition Task Force. Prior to joining the AICPA in May 2012, Desiré was a Senior Manager at Deloitte in the M&A Transaction Services group. Desiré is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a South African Chartered Accountant CA(SA).

 

Christopher McClure

Christopher McClure  - Partner, Crowe LLP

Christopher leads the Midwest Forensic Practice of Crowe. He and his team assist companies and their counsel in dealing with complex compliance issues and investigations.  Christopher has significant experience dealing with SEC, EPA and other federal and state regulatory issues.

Christopher oversees Crowe’s efforts to assist clients with the Conflict Minerals reporting requirements under Dodd-Frank.  He provides expertise to clients on designing and implementing conflict minerals programs as well as planning and conducting independent assessments and IPSAs.

 

Jessica Gehl

Jessica Gehl - Manager, Sustainability Services and Risk Management, PwC

Jessica Gehl is a Manager in PwC's Sustainability Services team assisting US and Global clients on the future of reporting and non-financial assurance. She focuses on pre-assurance and assurance services for corporate sustainability reporting. She is part of the PwC Conflict Minerals Core Team and has led the PwC scoring team for CDP Climate Change questionnaires in 2013; held debriefs with companies on scoring and methodology from 2011-2014.
