Meeting Overview

Sustainable innovation can give your company an edge by bringing fresh focus to the design of products, services and business models. At this meeting, we will recap innovations from the past year that hold the most promise for accelerating the sustainability agenda. We will dive into successful and failed corporate member ventures, allowing us to explore which approaches have led to successful design innovation. We will engage in lively discussion on embedding sustainability more deeply into the full design process, and we will pool our talents in a collaborative workshop ending with an impactful takeaway and an opportunity to collaborate with your peers beyond the meeting timeframe.

We’ll explore innovations across product, service, and business model design and detail their implications for social and environmental impact. We’ll also examine how design innovation ties into the SB Brand Transformation Roadmap.

12:00pm | Case Study: Recyclable Packaging Across the Business 
Nicole Camilleri, Senior Packaging Specialist – Sustainability Lead, Nestle 

Nestlé is committed to reaching 100% recyclable or reusable packaging by 2025. To meet this lofty goal, the company has implemented projects for more than 60 of its brands to review and update packaging, including exploring alternative and compostable materials. Along with changes to materials, Nestle is aligning communications and messaging for maximum impact. Hear from the company's packaging design and communications experts on how they are executing against this ambitious sustainability goal.

The #BrandsforGood initiative is an alliance of brands and service providers focused on activating our consumers to tackle the most pivotal sustainability problems. Etienne White will detail how the alliance is collaborating to maximize activation among consumers by redesigning go-to-market messaging/communications to align across brands and industries.
